Losing weight can be difficult and boring at times; therefore, it is important to meet with a certified nutritionist, to receive the right help. However, losing weight can be done using simple techniques and nutrition tools.

Portion size is very important during a weight loss journey. Aim for 4 servings of carbohydrates a day (1 serving is 1/2 cup of pasta/rice or one slice of bread). Also, aim for 1-2 servings of fats a day (1 serving is 1 tbsp of oil). 

Eat more fruits and vegetables to help your appetite decrease and keep you feeling full. Also, counting calories is helpful as well. If you would like to lose 1 pound of fat mass a week, aim for a daily calories deficit of 500 calories. That would be 1500 calories for an average woman a day, in order to lose 1 pound a week.

Drink more water before each meal. Set a reminder and avoid sugary drinks. Also, having 3 set meals and only 1 snack, can help you keep on track. Don't snack too often, since you may forget the calories that were consumed.
