How exactly can the Mint Nutrition Clinic help me?

Our practitioners work one-on-one with our clients, to create effective custom nutrition plans. Our approach to nutrition counselling is unique, because it targets the underlying causes of a nutrition problem, and provides evidence-based solutions to give our client the tools and knowledge for long-term success. Our sessions also incorporate grocery store tours, and other interactive methods of teaching, which creates a more enhanced and engaging learning experience for our clients. Our clinic's success is also  as a result of working with competent and well-educated Registered Dietitian Nutritionists. Our goal is to revolutionize the field of nutrition counselling, by utilizing teaching techniques that are more interactive, and effective in the long term.

Where is the Mint Nutrition Clinic, and can I still Get Help If I don’t live close by?

Mint Nutrition Clinic is located at Yonge and Eglinton in Midtown Toronto (visit our Contact Us page to view our address), but in addition to being able to do meetings in midtown Toronto, we also offer fully online solutions to counselling, which allows us to help anyone, anywhere!  We deliver our programs using an ‘outside of the box’ innovative approach, and technology, creating advanced treatment programs that specifically target individual nutritional needs, while ensuring that complete lifestyle change is accessible for all of our clients. Whether a client chooses in-person, online, or telephone meetings, our practitioners are trained to make their learning journey as easy and possible.

How does Mint Nutrition Clinic use technology, to provide nutrition counselling?

Through digitizing the nutrition counselling process, we have created a more interactive, convenient, and successful model, that helps clients get the care that they need, when they need it, where they need it.  We offer digital slide sets, the option of webcam based sessions, and use other technology, to be the most innovative and accessible nutrition provider we can be. We enhance the nutrition learning experience for our clients by incorporating recipe tools, cooking tutorials, grocery store tours, and more, into our treatment packages, and that combination of techniques has proven to be successful in the long term.

What’s with the name, ‘MINT’?

The mint plant typically represents an image of being fresh, clean, medicinal, cool, and calming; but mint has a much deeper symbolic meaning.  The mint plant, above the surface, is beautiful, full of vitality, and prolific - but what most people don’t know, is that the success of the mint plant lies beneath the surface, where it’s complex network of rhizomatous roots lay the important the foundation for the plant’s success that is seen above.  Nutrition, and general health, are much like the mint plant - the success that is seen on the surface, is only a fraction of the true success that is occurring within.

What sets Mint Nutrition Clinic Practitioners apart from Other Clinics?

Our education standards are high - we only employ nutritionists that are properly educated, and highly competent in their field of work and Registered Dietitians who are licensed by Dietitians of Canada and the College of Dietetics of Ontario. Our clinic does not work with holistic nutritionists. All of our nutritionists have completed a bachelor of applied science degree, in Nutrition and Food, and have been trained in post-secondary education that is accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Many other nutrition clinics do not have strict guidelines, and refer to themselves as nutritionists, but have no accreditation from a regulatory body. Mint Nutrition Clinic only employs practitioners that have graduated from a recognized dietetic education program, which is an accredited program that is recognized by the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP) that prepares graduates of the program to be eligible for registration with a provincial dietetics regulatory body.  Check ‘Practitioners' page for more information about our employee education standards.

Our clients receive the highest quality of care, due to our competent staff, and  evidence-based practice, which is systematic and standardized. Our individualized treatment plans are medically safe and multi-dimensional in design and our practitioners use the most current nutrition knowledge that the medical community has to offer. Our “Clients First” approach, is paramount at Mint Nutrition Clinic and as a team, we are committed to proving outstanding service and customer care.

What is the “Nutrition Care Process”?

Many nutrition clinics in Toronto do not follow strict treatment plan guidelines; therefore, a large health risk is present for the client. Mint Nutrition Clinic's nutritionists are only permitted to use the "Nutrition Care Process" when they are designing a treatment plan. This helps to ensure that medically safe practice is occurring and the risk of harm is significantly reduced for the client.

The "Nutrition Care Process" is utilized by The Dietitians of Canada, and it is implemented in all of our treatment plans, in order to ensure that standardized practice is maintained. Implementing this framework allows us to provide the highest quality nutrition counselling, which results in long-term client success. All of our clients can be certain that they are receiving the highest quality of nutrition counselling offered in this field of work, and their safety is our priority.
