Oats: All You Need To Know

Oats are a great breakfast option, with lots soluble fibre and protein. There are also other health benefits to oats that make this super food worth while. This week, Mint Nutrition Clinic, is talking all about oats and their important health qualities.

Health Benefits of Oats

There are different versions of oats, such as steel-cut oats, rolled oats, and instant oats. The healthiest option is the steel-cut oats, because they are the least processed.

Eating more oats can be beneficial for reducing your risk of diabetes and heart disease. This is because, oats are full of soluble fibre. This means that they form a gel in the digestive tract and help absorb cholesterol during excretion, while also slowing the absorption of sugars (therefore reducing blood sugar levels).

We recommend having oats at least 2 times a week for breakfast. Click Here, to get your own nutrition guide and meal plan, in order to reduce your risk of diabetes and heart disease.
